Download free "COMPUTER AIDED SUDOKU" at www.sudoku.laviron.com

It does not play for you. It just show you all the places where you can play.
Beginners, you will learn how to play.
Experts, you will go directly to the place where you start thinking.

Tired ? Get the solution and go to sleep.

You can also check if there are no duplicated numbers in your answer and check that the solution is unique.

You need Excel to be installed on your computer.

Enjoy

Maybe - but first one will need to learn how to use the program!!

The instructions suggest that one needs to "Erase Orders" and then
to "Initialise". Neither 'button' did anything (and I DID opt to enable
Macros when I downloaded the Excel sheet).

Yes - it is installed.

However, from my experience so far this product has no value to me.

If anyone else DOES find it of value, please let us know.

Sadly it never reached me.
It is important to get spelling correct - the above is erroneous.

Thank you for your post.

Here are some instructions which could help you (but I am not sure now, because I suppose you did it) :

1) Just after downloading, save the file in a place P you remember. Close the window.
Open Excel, open the file you find in the place P.
I understand you have no problem to enable macros.

2) click at the bottom, on the sheet GAME
You should see simultaneously, without moving the window :
- above the title "computer aided sudoku"
- at the bottom "Comment zone (for you)"
If it is not the case, in the menu : View, zoom, and select a smaller magnification.

3) Click in a cell, for example R1, C1. This is just a precaution. Take this precaution each time you see that the buttons does not work.
Above on the right, click on the button "Example". You should get a red sudoku entering in the small "Initial puzzle" (above right).
If it works, it means that your macros are working properly.

4) Now under the "Initial puzzle", click on Solution. If after a while, you get the solution it means that everything is working properly.

5) Now let us play.
Click "Erase Initial",
Either click "Example", either enter yourself the sudoku you want to solve (you took it in a newspaper for example) in the "Initial puzzle"
Click "Initialise", you should see the "Initial puzzle" going into the "puzzle".
Now you play in the cell in the same way you does on you paper.
To enter a number, click on the cell, type the number, press the key "enter" on your keyboard, or click in an other cell.
The key "enter" or click in an other cell, after entering a number is very important ; otherwise the buttons are inoperant.
To delete a number (if you make a mistake) : click on the cell, press the key "Del", press "Enter" or click in an other cell.

I stop now because, may be you have other problems I did not understand at this time.

Please could you tell me if the five points above are working properly and if you want I continue to give you some explanations.
If it does not work, please give me a maximum of informations.
Please tell me also if you are used to practice Excel.

May be, you will find this has no interest for you. Just say it to me.
But if you want to try, I am at your disposal. I hope you will not regret it.

Sincery yours

André Laviron

PS : please excuse my english if sometime it is difficult to understand.
