				Dear anyone,

I have been casually using the site for over a year with no problems and then one day - pencil marks stoppedworking. I cannot remove or add pencil marks at all.

I use Windows XP and Firefox.

Can anyone help?

I highlight the pencil mark and either at the same time or afterwards use alt or control - neither do anything. I have tried using alt/control first and highlighting but i lose the puzzle altogether.

				Howdo, Sue!

I also run XP and Firefox.

When I have a .pdf document open, some of the control-x keys are seized by the pdf. program. Ctrl-2 and ctrl-9 back up one screen.

You might check your task bar to see if one of those programs are overriding the ctrl or alt combinations.

Good luck! |

				Thank you Pwarnshuis

I have a confession and its probably to do with being female.

I thought that highlighting pencil marks and then pressing alt/delete would do the job.

Through trial and error I found that I just needed to click the cursor in the box concerned, press alt/(number I want to delete) and it worked.

I feel such an idiot!

Thank you for trying.

The Ctrl key works the same as the Alt for that purpose. Also, in case you weren't aware, if you mistakenly remove a pencil mark, pressing Alt or Ctrl and the number will add it back. |

I am not going to touch that one, but I have the opinion that the Sudoku obsession seems to belong mostly to males in their 50's whose careers have involved mathematics and/or computers.

Which describes me.

				| Well they say music and maths go together, so can I add in musicians. Especially the (more intelligent) ones towards the back who have more spare time in rehearsals! |
