Lovely puzzle Immpy!

You have here an example of an ALS xz with overlapping sets.

Two ALS with overlap

{3,4,7,8} Is green and also the purple square
{2,3,4,7,9} Is beige and the same purple square

The restricted common is 3

The 4 in r3c9 is eliminated because it can see all 4's in both sets.

Thanks Mogulmeister, and nicely solved in one step. I don't identify those things too well, so I just used X, XY, and XYZ Wings wherever applicable. And there was a 2-String Kite on (3) that helped along the way. That gave it the (+) rating.

cheers...immp

Thanks Immp it was certainly tricky.

I enjoy ALS because they are spatial and can be very elegant. It takes a bit of practice but I do think they are worth it.

Starting with Mogulmeister's grid I used the following chain:
4r3c9-(4=2)r4c9-[(2=3)r4c6-(23=4*)r4c7 -(24=7)r7c9]-(4*7=2)r8c7-(2=3)r8c2-r3c2=r3c6 contradiction (i.e. 3r34c6) => r3c9 <> 4; stte.
