At this point
If r4c8=6
then stay in c8 gives r3c8 = 9
also stay in r4 gives r3c2 = 9
so we can safely say r4c8 <>6

I jumped onto the same chain but at a different point. If you make r3c2 = 9 you get two 9’s in col 2. Or if you complete the loop the starting 9 in r3c2 is evicted by the loop. R3c2 < > 9

Staying on the cell at r3c2. Whatever value <89> it takes, r4c8 < > 6.

Sticking with r3c2 there are pincers for 8 on r3c2 and r4c8 removing 8 from r4c2

I used a W-Wing: 9/8 in r3c2,r7c8 connected by 8 in r4c28=>r3c8<>9

Very nice Immp! That r3c2 is a cornerstone on this puzzle!

Very nice indeed Clement. Good to see you. I think you have a typo first step is r6c1 ?

Another way
if r5c1=3, r6c8=3, r3c8=9, r3c2=8
where does the <8> go in box 4?

…or extend Clement’s chain by one step so that there are pincers for 3 at (a) and r5c9.

A slightly odd pincer movement:

(9=6)r1c6-(6=4)r4c6-(4=6)r6c4-(6=3)r6c8-(3=9)r3c8 so r1c9 < > 9

Pincers for 9 at r1c6 and r3c8.

There is also an XY chain starting at r8c4, if that is 4 then 4-6-3-9-8-4-6-4 puts 4 in r6c4 as well

This is where Eureka can be helpful but I think I understand - you use the 4 in r8c4 to jump onto an xy chain that reverses round Clement's chain but instead of going c to b adds two extra steps going from c via r4c26 to plonk a contradictory 4 in r6c4 ? Two fours in col 4 and r8c4 < > 4 and by implication r6c4 = 4 (< > 6).

Very good.

Strictly speaking - (but who cares really ?) - the xy chain proper starts at r6c4 because the 4 at r8c4 is part of an xyz <489> cell which is the "nudge". Which you don't actually need.

You could use exactly the same chain and start (4=6)r6c4 ("r6c4 not 4 must be 6')
and follow it round to the contradiction (6=4)r6c4 ("r6c4 not 6 must be 4")

So r6c4 = 4 (< > 6).
