After basics.

+--------------+----------------+----------------+
| 19 23 5 | 1289 4 1689 | 1379 3678 689 |
| 7 4 23 | 1289 169 5 | 139 368 689 |
| 19 8 6 | 19 3 7 | 2 5 4 |
+--------------+----------------+----------------+ |
Thanks Immp!
I was tinkering with this and made a discovery.
If r2c7 = 3 then r2c3 =2 and puzzle solved. (four <23> chained together like a "spine")
-OR-
If r2c7 = 9 then stte and puzzle solved.(r2c3 = 2)
Whichever you choose for r2c7 we have a winner!

(9=6|83)b9p365 – (3=2)r8c3 – (2=39)r2c37 => - 9r3c9; stte |

Another contradiction.
Using Clement's annotated grid we can also start in a different place (c)r2c7.
c(3-9)r2c7=(9-68)r3c9=a(68-9)r78c9=a(3-68)r8c8-b(3=2)r8c3-(2=3)r2c3-c(3=9)r2c7
Remove 9 in r2c7 and the loop contradicts it and puts the 9 back into r2c7.
R2c7 = 9. |

I used pincers on 3 in r1c4 and r2c7 to give -3 in r1c78
this sets r1c7 and r7c8 to 7
and this means -3 in r8c8 using the <23> in c3 otherwise no 3's in box 3
so r2c7=9
Bit of a scenic route here! |
