I'm getting a blank page when going there. Are others getting the same thing?
However, a Glossary, Solving guide and other stuff can be accessed from Sudocue.net, which I'm not sure if it's the same information on Sudopedia. |

I do have a copy of the entire site which I made after the last time it disappeared.

This is at the limits of my knowledge. I will have to hunt around for the Sudopedia copy. As I recall, the copy ran for days, and I landed up with many GB of stuff.
I imagine I have the images, unless they were hosted at a site external to sudopedia, like image shack.
I'll check what I have this weekend. I am prepared to put it all on a DVD and mail it to anyone.

Take a look at Recent Changes on sudopedia.org. As of this writing, almost all of the last 500 changes (over less than 2 days) are spam, presumably due to spam bots.  |

I will be quite happy for someone to look at my machine using Skype to see if we can copy the image of Sudopedia that I have.
I did send ronk a partial copy of what I have. I do not know how useful he found it to be.
Otherwise, take a look at the Wayback Machine. They have copies of sudopedia.org going back to 2006.

one good thing about the "wiki" system ( including SuDoPedia ) --
history is retained, all earlier versions are available !
so, when you need a good version of any one article,
you can just "View history" and pick a version from before the spam
e.g. the Main Page -- |

Pat,
So anyone should be able to copy the Sudopedia site as it stands, and then restore it to its former glory in another place?
The spammers only trashed the current pages, not the wiki site itself?

The goal was to upload lost images,but I never figured out how to upload even one. I think there's something broken there too. Besides, at least one bot is continually spamming sudopedia, so it's just a matter of time before it crashes again IMO. Until that is fixed, any effort to upload images would likely be wasted. That's a big de-motivator. |

my comment was about any one article
if they're only spamming the Main Page — easy to fix
otherwise,
we'll need to go page-by-page and identify the last good version

after the Server crash,
Ruud did restore most of the SuDoPedia —
but did not restore the images
this has left the SuDoPedia in an inconsistent state
e.g. www.sudopedia.org/index.php/File:Sensei.png — exists, with all the history, description, etc;
but the image itself — www.sudopedia.org/images/Sensei.png — is missing

Ruud has responded to NOTHING in 4.5 years. I don't think that sending the images to him will do any good whatsoever. 
Unfortunately, I think that the best course of action is to give up Sudopedia.org for lost, and for someone here (keith?) to recreate it in its former glory on another server. |

I believe tarek who here wrote "Ruud has made a quick cameo after more than 4 years as well."
IMO the most effective thing Ruud could do now is to give someone else unrestricted administrative privileges. |

That would not be me. I do not have the skills.
I can't even figure our how to copy the files I do have!
If Pat is correct, maybe someone else should attempt to make a copy of Sudopedia, and try to get all the history. Maybe the Wiki rollback feature will indeed work.
