I can't find a happy medium at Vanhegan; the Fiendish are easy, the Extreme are generally too hard. This is puzzle 6-1431830, rated 2.0.0.1.1. After a useless ER and XY-Chain I'm stuck. There are a few flightless wings in which I can't see a transport.

				Marty,

Based on what Sudoku Susser says, this is too extreme for me.

In that case, then I don't feel too badly. |

My solver's default solution used two chains and numerous additional steps. Nothing friendly. However, an analysis pass discovered there was a SIN that cracked the puzzle at this point. I converted it into something semi-understandable.

It certainly wasn't "friendly." I managed it with three Nice Loops and an X chain, which I append here not for any claim to beauty, but in case anyone has a bad case of insomnia:

 	  | Code: | Continuous Nice Loop:  (1)r3c4 = r9c4 -(1=8)r9c5 - r9c78 =(86-5)r7c89 = r4c9 -(5=6)r4c2 - r3c2 =(6)r3c4;  r3c4<>359, r4c38<>5

(6)r3c2 =(6-1)r3c4 = r9c4 -(1=8)r9c5 - r9c78 =(86-5)r7c89 =(5)r9c8 -(5=9)r9c2 -(9)r3c2;  r3c2<>9

(4)r2c4 =(4-8)r2c6 = r2c9 -(8=5)r4c9 -(5=6)r4c2 - r3c2 = r3c4 -(6)r2c4; r2c4<>6=4

(5)r7c3 = r8c1 - r3c1 = r3c2 - r4c2 = r4c9; r7c9<>5 |

				SS says:

  4 x Comprehensive Forcing Chains

  5 x Simple Forcing Chains

  1 x XY-Wing

  1 x Intersection Removal

  4 x Pinned Squares

Out of my league. In my opinion.
