hi guys
i'm having a little problem with the puzzles on diophante.fr. it's a french site dealing with math in particular diophantine equations(...). well the problem is that the first few puzzles are right, but in some of them i am forced to use trial and error. can anyone tell me whether he can find a solution using only pure logic.
thanks

Dominique, I'm a rank amateur compared to the talented solvers who post here. Nevertheless, I'd like to take a shot at some of those puzzles. Could you point to a couple of specific puzzles which required you to use trial and error? |

Avertissement :

This allocates one to five stars (etoiles) to the list above
very easy; easy; medium, hard, very hard.

$ C230. Sudoku
$ C231. Sudoku : grilles n°2 - 3 et 4
$ C232. Sudoku : grilles n°5 - 6 et 7
$ C233. Sudoku : grilles n°8 - 9 et 10
$ C234. Sudoku : grilles n°11 - 12 et 13
$ C235. Sudoku : grilles n°14 - 15 et 16
$ C236. Sudoku : grilles n°17 - 18 et 19
$ C237. Sudoku : grilles n°20 - 21 et 22
$ C238. Sudoku : grilles n°23 - 24 et 25
None of these grids appear to be hard or very hard.
Thus it would be interesting to compare the grading system.
Is a diophantine medium like a SamGJ medium???

C230. Sudoku
Unfortunately the clip board does not transport the actual puzzles!!
The instructions are then repeated for each set of grids.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C231. Sudoku – Grilles n°2,3 et 4 $
This suggests that the puzzles have the minimum number of
initial clues - seventeen.

It was such a shame not being able to transport some of the
puzzles from that other site. I was able to post them into a
MS-Word document using Paste Special. Is there an equivalent
way to get them into a post in this forum?
The alternative is to transcribe the grids off the screen onto paper and
then to retype them - an error-prone process if ever there is one!
I would wish to post grids 11,12,13 quoted under C234.
