This puzzle may not qualify as fun. Unlike the previous puzzles, the XY-Wings are numerous and some occur early.

Well, we can just resort to some larger ALS:
[1] (1=5)r2c8 - (5)r8c8=(5)r8c9 - ALS[(5)r56c9=(1)r456c9]; r1c9|r4c8<>1
[2] (3=6)r7c7 - (6=5)r2c7 - ALS[(5)r12c8=(3)r4c8]; r6c7|r8c8<>3
After quite a bit of simplification...
[3] X-Wing on 3

didn't notice that second elmination up on the 6 in r1c9.
I was getting on Asellus and you got on me.

I claim no ownership. I avoided focusing on bivalues because doing so kept slipping into XY-Wings in disguise. (I rejected Keith's M-Wing for that reason since I saw it as just the 356 XY-Wing wearing a 35 bivalue moustache.) There's no way to see your W-Wing as an XY(Z)-Wing, so congrats!! |
